Go Wu is an invention derived from the EeWu, created in the 1920’s by Lu Wencheng. It is a two stringed fiddle played with a bow. Originally it was made using silk strings which he swapped to steel string and changed how to hold the instrument while playing to between the knees. It is a high pitched two stringed instrument. It is slightly smaller than the Erhu having no back close piece. In the 20th Century musicians added a small bamboo tube inside the Go Wu’s body making the sound brighter.
